Suki Waterhouse at The Anthem
Go To This Because We Asked So Nicely – A Concert Preview
By Alexandra Henriques
English singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse takes her The Sparklemuffin Tour to The Anthem on Wednesday, December 11th, supported by indie-rock band Bully. The tour celebrates Waterhouse’s newest album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, released in September of this year and follows a successful year of singles and collaborations for Bully (the project of Alicia Bognanno). The Anthem, located in The Wharf, boasts a capacity of 6,000 and sits in front of the Washington Channel, giving you beautiful waterfront views as you wait for doors to open. The Anthem also has seated and standing tickets, both of which are available for the Suki Waterhouse show.
Suki Waterhouse has flourished as a model, actress and singer. The all-talented indie-pop artist released her second full-length album (Memoir of a Sparklemuffin), opened for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and collaborated with Ashe for the single “Pushing Daisies” throughout the past year. She also celebrated the birth of her first child in March with her alleged fiancé Robert Pattinson. The relationship has inspired ballads such as “Good Looking” and, more recently, “To Love.” Waterhouse has almost 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and Memoir of a Sparklemuffin has garnered over 100 million plays since its release. Her success is no surprise; her dreamy, airy vocals are addicting to listen to, meaning her voice live will sound heavenly.
Bully, the project of Alicia Bognanno, has had a successful two years, collaborating with Soccer Mommy for the single “Lose You” and Blondshell for “Docket,” alongside the release of Lucky For You in June of 2023. Bognanno is the sole member of Bully, formerly a garage rock band, though she has maintained those sonic roots and created a successful solo project. She has amassed over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
