Duane Simpkins is the Assistant Head Coach for the GMU men’s basketball team. The Patriots men’s basketball team finished with a 11W-21L record last year in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Becker talked to Coach Simpkins about expectations heading into the upcoming basketball season, Coach Paulsen’s contract extension, the secret to recruiting, and leadership on the team. Coach Simpkins was also a former college player for the Maryland Terrapins. He played under legendary college basketball coach, Gary Williams. Becker last asked Coach Simpkins to share a few stories about how it was like to play under Gary Williams.
