Last week I learned how bad the New York Giants are. I stand by that statement. They seem to be the Dallas Cowboys of old. As for the Washington Redskins, well, they played a lot better than most people believed they would. Coming up against a team fresh from beating the Super Bowl runners up, I tipped the Rams to take care of business in week two against the Redskins.
The Redskins- are a much better team than people, including myself, gave them credit for after week one’s performance. My only question is, where did Matt Jones come from and where has he been all this time? I am certain fantasy owners will be sprinting to the waiver wire to pick him up.
I was most surprised by how well the Washington defense played. Kept the Rams out of the end zone for the better part of the first half. This Redskins side showed fans that there is still hope for this season. After all, they are in second place in the division.
Antonio Brown- You can try to man cover him but you might as well just give up. The wide receiver of the Pittsburgh Steelers is uncoverable. Even with safety help over the top, he will still burn you for a ludicrous amount of yards.
Since the departure of Emmanuelle Sanders to the Denver Broncos, Brown has exploded onto the scene and has become one of the, if not the most elite receiver in the NFL.
That being said, he has yet to be tested by an elite corner this season, but if he continues the form that he has been on so far this season and last season, it will be difficult for even the best in the business to keep him out of the end zone.
The New Orleans Saints- It appears Jimmy Graham abandoned ship right on time. The New Orleans Saints were known as a tough team to beat, especially at home. And with an elite quarterback like Drew Brees, you would expect them to win games.
And yet, they sit 0-2 on the season and cannot seem to beat a rookie quarterback and divisional rivals, Tampa Bay. To me, the Saints lack the “wow factor.” Brees cannot do it all himself, and taking away his main red zone weapon in Graham, does not bode well for the 2015-16 season and the Saints.to add salt to the wound, Brees may be out for some weeks with what is believed to be a rotator cuff injury.
The New York Jets- sitting pretty at 2-0 to start off the season under new head coach Todd Bowles. They seem to be the real deal this season. And after Monday night football against Indianapolis Colts, the locker room should be feeling good about themselves so far.
Now the question is, were the Jets that good? Or was Andrew luck and the Colts that bad? I believe it to be a combination of the two. Ryan Fitzpatrick has arrived to the Jets at the perfect time. Look for the Jets to make a playoff push this season.
The Indianapolis Colts- I just finished talking about how good the Jets were on Monday night. Now let us shift over to how bad the Colts were. Andrew luck was atrocious. Period. With no offensive line to keep him upright, there is no chance the Colts would win against Jets and its powerful front seven.
With all the injuries Indy has in its defense, Andrew luck will once again have to put the team on his shoulders. Unlike last year, he has yet to produce a solid performance. The run game was not even that bad. Frank gore was running well, but his teammates could not stop holding the opposition. These penalties created an even bigger hole for the young quarterback to dig himself and his team out of.
