A unique and innovative artist, Wytold combines percussive bowing and melodic finger picking on the cello to create a distinctly entertaining sound. With two extra strings on his electric cello, Wytold creatively blends the depth and power of a traditional stand up bass with the bright crispness of violin solos and harmonies.
He records on both electric and acoustic in order to provide his own rock-orchestral accompaniment when on stage. Recently a recipient of a Young Artist Grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Wytold is currently working on his solo album entitled “When Fulvio Finds Celeste.”
Beyond his recorded work, Wytold can be found performing in the D.C./metro areas as well as the upcoming Intimate Concert Series here at Mason. For his upcoming performance at GMU, percussionists Bryan Bowman and Jerry Tolk will accompany Wytold as they plan on entertaining audiences with a truly creative musical style.
