To honor George Mason, the “Father of the Bill of Rights”, birthday December 11 we invite the George Mason community to tweet your support for your favorite First Amendment freedom with the hash tag #FreeToTweet Dec. 1 – Dec. 15, 2012 and retweet to “@gmustudentmedia”or email your tweet to stumedia@gmu.edu. All tweets received will be entered to win a $100 gift card prize from The Office of Student Media. Participants in the “Free to Tweet” campaign, sponsored by “1 for All”, with #FreeToTweet will be entered in the “Free to Tweet” scholarship competition to win a $5000.
George Mason authored the Virginia Declaration of Rights and inspired generations of Americans with his words. Now let’s pay tribute to him with our best tweet in support of our favorite First Amendment freedom.
