NewDad at The Atlantis
Go To This Because We Asked So Nicely – A Concert Preview
By Noah Temple
Irish indie rock band NewDad just released their first studio album, Madra, in January of this year and, since then, have exploded in popularity, touring Ireland and the UK. Now they are coming to The Atlantis on November 6th. Formed in 2018, NewDad has been steadily releasing singles and EPs, with their sound being compared to bands like The Cure and artists like Beabadoobee.
NewDad consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Julie Dawson. Her enchanting vocals are soft and pleasant to listen to, with lead guitar Sean O’Dowd’s powerful riffs. Bass guitar Cara Joshi and drummer Fiachra Parslow lay a strong foundation for each song to make their entire discography a cohesive and fun listen.
NewDad will perform at the Atlantis on November 6th with opener Jeff Draco. The venue was modeled after the original 9:30 Club and is located right next to it. Tickets start at $15 and go up to $24 after fees, making this a must-attend concert if you have the time and enjoy indie rock music.
