Go To This Because We Asked So Nicely – A Concert Preview
By Emily Gill
Lotus is a Philadelphia based band formed in Indiana in 1998 and is composed of Jesse Miller, Luke Miller, Mike Greenfield, and Tim Palmieri. The group incorporates elements of rock, jazz, jam, hip-hop, funk and other influences into their unique musical blend of instrumental electronica that over the years has helped paved the way for simple jamband music.
Their most recent album, Live in Steel City, was recorded live in Pittsburgh at what would be the band’s last show with late percussionist, Chuck Morris. One of their most popular releases, 2004 song “Colorado”, showcases the versatility of the band, as the slow, nostalgic song differs greatly in energy from another of their popular songs, “Sodium Vapor”. If you’re a fan of the Grateful Dead or Sublime, this band is for you and you’ll love grooving and vibing out with them at their show.
