Wendy is a solo artist under ASND Label. She made her musical debut on Aug. 1, 2014, as part of the iconic girl group, Red Velvet. As part of the quintet, she and the members took the third generation of K-pop (2012-2019) scene by storm. While her time as a solo artist ended on April 4, 2025, with SM Entertainment, she is still part of Red Velvet for any future group activities. She made her solo debut on April 5, 2021, with her first mini album, Like Water. The album was packed with a mix of soulful ballads with hints of rock elements thrown in. From the album, the song “When This Rain Stops” was nominated for Best Pop Song at the 2022 Korean Music Awards. Her second mini album, Wish You Hell, switched the genre up by exploring R&B and aspects of dance pop added in the mix. This album won three awards at the 2024 Asian Pop Music Awards (Best Female Artist, People’s Choice Award, and Top 20 Albums of the Year). Her most recent comeback was on Sept. 10, 2025, with her third mini album, Cerulean Verge. This new album takes the audience on a journey through a blend of indie-rock, retro, and alternative pop segments. Additionally, this is also her first work under her ASND Label.Beyond her musical works, Wendy is also a radio personality. She started her show Wendy’s Youngstreet on SBS Power FM. The show runs from 8 P.M. to 10 P.M. KST (7-9 a.m. EST), and it’s currently on its second season. The first broadcasting season ran from July 21, 2021, to July 2, 2023. She won two awards with the first season from the 2022 Korea First Brand Awards (Radio DJ) and the 2022 Brand of the Year Awards (Radio DJ of the Year). This year, she has already won the 2025 D Award (Best Female Solo Popularity Award) and the 2025 Brand of the Year Award (Female Radio DJ of the Year). While she is already a global icon, most people may not know she is also the singer for OSTs in famous K-dramas. Some of her most popular works include “What If Love” (Touch Your Heart), “My Day Is Full Of You” (The King: Eternal Monarch), and “Two Words” (Start Up). This upcoming tour is to celebrate her recent comeback and meet global fans for the first time as a solo artist!
