By Kate Trebra
Slaughter Beach, Dog is an indie rock band formed in Philadelphia in 2014. The band consists of Jake Ewald, the former vocalist in Modern Baseball, Ian Farmer, Zack Robbins, Adam Meisterhans, and Logan Roth. The band effortlessly blends folk, rock, and punk influences into a sound that is both intimate and expansive.
The band’s latest album, Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling, was released last year. Crying explores a new side of Slaughter Beach, Dog, and dips into the nooks of a dreamy, small-town life. Fans can expect to hear a mix of tracks from the new album, as well as favorites from earlier releases like Birdie and Motorcycle.jpg.
Slaughter Beach, Dog will be joined by Nashville-based musician Rich Ruth. Ruth combines open sound and touches of pedal steel to create an environment filled with peace, hope, and healing. His latest ambient album, Water Still Flows, contains lush melodies and warbling synths, sure to draw in fans of every genre.
Be sure to catch both Slaughter Beach, Dog and Rich Ruth at the 9:30 Club on Monday, October 7th! Doors are at 7:00 p.m., and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.
