By Sonya Lee
Jingle Ball is an annual event hosted by iHeartRadio, taking place during the holiday season in December. Originally, the concept of “Jingle Ball” was introduced by New York radio station Z100, which pitched the idea of a holiday concert to close out the year. Since its establishment 30 years ago, iHeartRadio expanded on the concept by adding a lineup of star-studded performers of that year to perform their best songs. As time went on, iHeartRadio became the main hub for most radio stations across the United States. What began as a one-concert event in one city has expanded to a national tour. The towns chosen do not change as much as the station’s partnership with Capital One; however, there is a long list of cities for the tour. The set cities for these concerts seem to be Dallas, L.A., Chicago, Detroit, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Miami (sometimes Tampa). These are not fixed cities, but are often core stops for the yearly event.Jingle Ball has become an annual tradition for people, as each stop sells out for the holiday event. The concert is also a great opportunity for family and friends to come together to enjoy seeing their favorite artists all in one show. The main event everyone looks forward to the most is the artists, and lucky for each city, the lineup is a bit different at each stop. Focusing on the Washington, D.C. stop on the tour, this year’s lineup includes AJR, Alex Warren, Conan Gray, Jelly Roll, Laufey, Monsta X, Myles Smith, Nelly, Olivia Dean, Shinedown, Zara Larsson, and a special moment for K-pop Demon Hunters. There is a mix of modern and iconic artists in this vast list. All of these artists had a packed year of events in 2025 or are established icons in the music scene, from returning artists to the event, such as Monsta X and Zara Larsson, to newcomers such as Olivia Dean and Laufey. There is a genre of music for everyone for this holiday season event, so come and create lasting memories with family and friends!
