Honne is an English duo comprised of James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck (the lead singer). This tour marks their tenth anniversary, and they are reprising songs from their first two albums, Warm on a Cold Night and Love Me/Love Me Not.
It appears, from the sampling, that they have capacity on a variety of instruments, including guitar, piano and synthesizer. The style of music is softer than most groups, more melodic. If I am going back to a really old school group to compare them to, I would say Simon & Garfunkel, without Art’s tremendous falsetto, nor the protest component of the sixties. If I had to pick a modern artist to compare them to, I would say the softer side of Bruno Mars, without the Latin flavor.
In any case, this is going to be a romantic fest. This group would be perfect for a first, second or third date, or a date night for married couples. Which means, dissatisfied bachelors, that there will be a disproportionate number of single women there.
