I know I am an old fart, and all new music reminds me of old music.
So, who does Hayla remind me of? Cher.
Hayla is a British singer and songwriter with 11 Grammy Nominations, three of them in 2026. Her songs run deep, exploring different themes of love lost and won to perception and self worth. She has a rapidly growing fan base, having gained over 100K followers in the past year. In 2022 and 2023, she scored consecutive number ones on the US dance radio chart, first with “Escape,” and then with “Where You Are.”
I just want to dance and spin to it. Any lead disco ducks out there who want to go with?
The 9:30 Club is a standing-room venue. In order to obtain a seat, you must call 202‑265‑0930 at least 24 hours in advance. The seating is up two flights of stairs in the balcony. Parking is problematic, with the closest garage being at Whole Foods, about two blocks away. The U St Metro station is about 2.5 blocks away. The best way to go, if you want to minimize walking, is by ride share.
