Alice Phoebe Lou is coming to Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Theater on Wednesday, April 15. The alternative/indie singer is making a stop here on her current tour, Oblivion, named after her sixth and most recent studio album. Lou grew up in South Africa, then moved to Berlin, Germany, where she began busking before her career took off.

Lou’s single “Witches” has circulated many people’s social media feeds throughout the Halloween season since its release in 2020. Her newest album, Oblivion, was released on Oct. 24 of last year. Her music is influenced by artists like Joni Mitchel and Leonard Cohen. This album highlights these influences very well with delicate, beautiful vocals and poetic lyrics. Standouts from this album to me are “Sailor” and “Sparkle.”

The Oblivion tour will be highlighting this album and presumably will align with its vibes. As of writing this the first show on this tour is tomorrow. If you want to get an idea of what songs you might be hearing at the show, take a look online to see if an updated setlist is up yet! I know I will be keeping an eye out.
