Alex Dougherty at Pearl Street Warehouse
Go To This Because We Asked So Nicely – A Concert Preview
By Christian Setzer
Alex “Big Red” Dougherty is hosting a wild DJ set this Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Pearl Street Warehouse. When you think of Dougherty, you might not imagine whimsical, exciting DJ sets; instead, you might imagine a man who lives for his family. However, he takes on Pearl Street with his Day Made Tour, bringing high-energy music, dance moves, and his one-of-a-kind personality that made him such a star.
I have followed Dougherty’s music career since the beginning, making this a special show for all, like me, who have watched his videos and followed him on social media with the “Dougherty Dozen.” I cannot wait to see his electric energy in person on Wednesday. Whether it is his musical gift or his witty, college-aged humor on display, it will be a show to beat. His ability to move a crowd and provide entertainment, while also performing intense DJ mixes, has to be studied. While Dougherty has not officially released any music, his DJ tour has caught the nation by storm. He goes from state to state, never failing to miss a vibe, selling out in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Ohio. His show in D.C. will certainly be just as hype.
From a home-grown family man to an up-and-coming DJ, no one would have ever seen this coming. I am incredibly excited to see this show and even more amped up to see his signature dance!
