WGMU Radio Show Descriptions
Alex Howard-“Party Like It’s 9 Teen 90 Nine”
Producing the ultimate and groundbreaking songs of the 90s, “Party Like It’s 9 Teen 90 Nine” is a show that has everything the music of today doesn’t have: value. Aren’t you tired of hearing the same old Top 40 pop song every day on the radio? Is that Bieber fever finally wearing out? The 90s were a time period where music, fire, and rebellion all met. Let’s bring it back with bands like Pearl Jam, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Alice In Chains! There will also be music news, concert updates, brand spanking new releases, local band interviews, and much more! Tune in to “Party Like It’s 9 Teen 90 Nine” every Monday from 3-4pm. Sports Break-
A two hour show that delves into the biggest and latest sports news, ‘Sports Break’ is a must-listen for all sports fans. With analysis, predictions and strong opinions, ‘Sports Break’ promises to be an engaging and listener-interactive program that appeals to all levels of sports fanhood. Brit Wright-“The Wright Hour”:
An hour of music and hour of talk. Issues covered during the show are current events in the world, sports, music, and issues involving and affecting the black community at Mason and the Nation. We have gained huge popularity here at Mason, but surprisingly enough in the DMV area. I had 6 people call this past Friday who were in Atlanta listening. The Music I play varies from the likes of Drake, Earth Wind and Fire, to John Mayer and Justin Bieber. I hope you get a chance to listen to the show and appreciate the topics being discussed.
Vince Kane- “Musical Masterminds”
A look back through popular music history with each show dovoted to the people that created, changed, built or altered the development of different types of music genres. From 1930′s Acoustic Delta Blues to 1980′s indie-Britt pop to the 2000′s Garage Rock Revival, they’re all here. Each show is dedicated to a different artist or group of artists that shaped a musical style, through there own compositions as well as the works of those who influenced them. Mostly music here, but expect a good dose of interesting history as well.
Aisha Hussain and Vince Kane- “I Lost My Voice at That Show Last Night”
If you like to meet bands and talk about concert adventures or would like to request to see a band you are part of to preform here at George Mason tune in!. Jam’ out with us on Wednesdays 12pm-1pm to get into the groove of uprising local artists. You can call in to ask the in guest bands questions or stop by the station to hang out with them! Monet Sutton- “The Fearless Hour”

Storm Paglia – “The Perfect Storm”
The Perfect Storm, hosted by Storm Paglia, plays the biggest hits of the classic rock era, mixed in with the best hits from WGMU’s extensive library. So sit down and enjoy some great music during lunch, Thursdays from 12-1 PM!
Dylan Hares- “Afternoon Delight”
Playing all of my favorite music that I think people need to be exposed to including current rock and pop hits and indie and alternative music that needs more exposure. I’ll be providing insightful commentary on the music and on things that I think are important to talk about as well as promoting on-campus events that people should go to.
Adam Weidemann- “The Untitled Adam Weidemann Project” Tune in Thursday nights at 9-10pm to hear an eclectic mix of Adam Weidemann’s favorite songs of the moment- including but not limited to different forms of hip hop, indie rock and r&b. Adam talks about the songs and artists in between sets of two or three songs and towards the end of the show plays something that he or one of his many talented friends have done- in a segment called narcissism.
Martin Bonica- “The Enclosed Instruction Book”
Martin Bonica’s eclectic music tastes, laid out in the space of an hour, broadcast over the glorious internet for your consumption. If you need instructions…
Sean Randolph- “Voice of the Goldfish”
Tune in every Sunday for free format fun, featuring many pleasant sounds off the most recent releases we can get our hot hands on. Alex Romano, Storm Paglia, and David Bier: “Mixing it Up and Back”
A Sunday evening show hosted by Alex with co-hosts Storm Paglia and David Bier. The show has originations back to 2008 when Alex first started the program and has been on and off ever since…but now it’s back. We’re playing today’s hottest music while rewinding it all and bringing it back with some of yesterday’s biggest hits. We’re talking to the big players here at Mason and doing interviews with some very interesting people (sometimes your occasional celebrity). We’re all about Mason and all about music on Mixing it Up and Back!
Ted’s Coffee House
Join broadcaster Ted Sinn every Thursday for two hours of indie rock. With a definite emphasis on music from the mid 1980’s to mid 1990’s, Ted also includes local music and new releases. A true aficionado of indie rock, Ted has been broadcasting on WGMU since 1989. Pour yourself a cup of Joe, stay awhile.
The Low End Theory with Jay Gatzby
Bringing music of different genres hip-hop, R&B, rock, reggae, etc and connecting them to each other such as the art of sampling. It is a late night class for music and you can learn where your favorite artist got those lyrics instrumentals from.
Danny Oelkers- “Our Show”
Tired of the same old crass humor and boring “newsworthy” items? Neither are we! So if you want to get your weekly dose of music, pop culture and shenanigans check out Our Show every Wednesday from 10pm to midnight. Keil Eggers – “You’ve Never Heard This Before”

“City Takers Radio”
City Takers Radio showcases the top lyricists in the game. Every Tuesday from 4-5 WGMU alum Taylor Made hosts the fastest hour of hip hop music online. There are no gimmicks here: just beats and rhymes, period.
Daniel Albert – “DANIELfromtheVA”
DANIELfromtheVA is a one hour mix show featuring a blend of mashups, electro, mainstream top 40, and hip hop that caters to rage-hungry college students. DANIELfromtheVA spins his own mashups as well as tracks from a vast range of EDM artists and other mashup DJs. Tune in every Wednesday at 11am and enjoy this bass fueled party hour!
Sha’Air Hawkins – If You Didn’t Know-Now You Do!
Being a cool college kid requires cool…and time, so much thatsometimes you miss what’s going on! No worries. Sha’Air will bring you up to date withthe current happenings from that weekend that just blurred by, not to mention the cooltunes that will keep you grooving. We all hate Mondays but remembering the weekend on If You Didn’t Know makes it all worth it.
Morgan Screptock – After School Special

Alex Green – The Greenhouse Effect
The Greenhouse Effect showcases an eclectic and diverse mix of past and current electronic music and focusing on subgenres, such as mellow chillwave and ambient music to the current uprisings of moombahton, dubstep, electro house, and many more. Complementing this wide spectrum of music, the show will include occasional interviews from up and coming producers and information regarding events in the DMV area.
