Lil Tecca at Echostage
Go To This Because We Asked So Nicely – A Concert Preview
By Tameem Tahiyah
New York native Lil Tecca arrives at Echostage on September 30th, one of the first stops in his Dopamine tour. This is not his first rodeo, as he previously toured America in 2022 on his Tecca Loves You Tour and recently finished a successful European leg of Dopamine, where he toured cities such as London, Milan, Paris, and more. The tour is to promote his new album Dopamine, which was released on June 13th. Echostage, located in Northeast Washington near the National Arboretum, is one of the larger concert venues with a capacity of around 3,000. The venue is primarily standing-room only, which ensures a high-energy experience for the crowd.

Lil Tecca, whose real name is Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, was born in Queens, New York, which influences his rap-style music. He dropped his first hit in 2019, “Ransom,” at just 16 years old. This breakout single blew up fast, peaking at #4 on Billboard and accumulating over a billion streams alone. On Spotify, Lil Tecca has amassed over 20 million monthly listeners, cementing himself as one of the leading voices in rap. Ever since his 2019 breakthrough, he has continued to rise, dropping yearly albums that deliver chart-worthy tracks.
Hardrock and ffawty are the two openers for his Dopamine tour, both relatively up-and-coming artists compared to Lil Tecca. While Hardrock brings raw energy with heavy beats and bold stage presence, ffawty focuses on blending rap and melody with an emotional edge. Together, they set the stage perfectly before Tecca takes over with his main set.
