October 7th, Aminé is coming around D.C. on Tour de Dance World Tour to make sure we haven’t forgotten how to get down in his absence. Floating around mainstream rap since his 2017 hit “Caroline”, his latest release, 13 Months of Sunshine, follows the lead of his 2023 collaboration with Kaytranada, Kaytraminé, in that it leans into rapping over beats you can really dance to. With notable collaborations including Toro y Moi, Leon Thomas, and Waxahatchee, this release can’t be confined to any one genre, and in the same way Aminé’s visuals for the album are of him going on a cross-country road trip, his live performance of 13 Months of Sunshine is sure to take the audience on a journey.
